Atlantic Home Inspection Ltd expects to provide Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM) Certificates for new and existing buildings to the local property market from summer 2007.

In response to the EU Directive 2001 on the Energy Performance of Buildings SBEM has been developed by the BRE to rate new and existing commercial buildings as to their CO2 emissions.

SBEM is the accepted methodology for demonstrating compliance with Part L for new commercial buildings and buildings undergoing renovation with floor areas in excess of 1000sqm

From mid 2009 all commercial buildings that are sold all leased will require an energy rating certificate.

A SAP assessment service for new dwellings will be available from be available from summer 2007. Ben Ashfold is an Elmhurst accredited SAP assessor. Accreditation ensures that SAP rating certificates are accepted by Local Authorities.
